The competition is open to Kindergarten, Grades 1–2, 3–4, 5–6, 7–8, 9–10 and 11–12 students. Each grade group has age-appropriate categories that match students' academic level and prior knowledge.
Atlântia is a multi-stage olympiad. Teams begin at National Round (October), advance to the EurAsia Championship (January), and finally compete at the World Championship in May–June in Spain.
There are six tracks: Science & Innovation, Robotics & Automation, Coding & AI, Engineering Design, the flagship Future Tech category, and the Mathematics & Science Olympiad — covering the classical academic disciplines of mathematics, biology, chemistry and physics alongside applied STEM project tracks.
Gold medalists receive admission referrals at partner universities and access to international academic networks. Silver medalists earn invitations to the European STEM Camp. Bronze medalists gain global ranking and recognition. Special jury awards recognize standout projects.
Both individual and team applications are welcome. Most categories favor team-based projects, but participants can also submit solo projects. Forming a team helps develop collaboration and teamwork skills — a core part of the Atlântia experience.
Projects are evaluated by an international academic jury composed of university professors, industry mentors and experts in engineering, defense and innovation. Evaluation considers scientific rigor, creativity, technical execution and real-world impact.

Registration details, including any fees, will be confirmed for each round and shared during application. We make every effort to keep participation accessible — many programs offer school-funded and sponsor-supported entries.
