Mega Sumo

Mega Sumo robots aim to push their opponents out of the Dohyo while strictly adhering to fair play and competition rules. Because the category involves high pushing forces and speeds, enhanced safety measures apply. Participation is open to ages 16+; at the discretion of the Competition Committee and judges, matches may be evaluated in separate High School (16–18) and University (18+) divisions.

Note: Participation in this category is paid and the cost per team and robot is  €150.

 

Important Notice: The Start module to be used in the competition must work with RC5 code and comply with Article 15 of the competition specifications. Fibonacci International Competition Remote will be used in the competition. Referees may press the start button more than once when necessary. This situation should be taken into consideration when writing the codes of robots.

Organization Rules

 

  • The field will be prepared using the same materials for the competition and tests.
  • Robots that want to participate in the competition must be registered in advance. This registration process includes a technical inspection of the robot, after which a label is attached to the robot and the order number is determined.
  • The technical review must be completed within the time specified by the organizers.
  • Any questions or problems that arise during the competition will be resolved by the referee.
  • In case of any objection, the final decision will be made by the referee and/or organizers. All complaints must be directed to the referee during the match or immediately after its conclusion. Complaints made later will not be taken into consideration. In case of any dispute or inconsistency, the final decision will always be made by the chief referee.

 

Application and Final Registration procedures

 

    • Participants who want to participate in the competition must pay the participation fee specified for each robot, otherwise “Approval of their Applications” will not occur.
    • It is the responsibility of the Consultant Teacher to notify payment transactions and check their approval.
    • An acceptance and confirmation e-mail will be sent to institutions that fill out the registration form or make payment to participate in the competition.
    • The final registration process will be completed on the date of registration fee payment.
    • Applications are limited to quota. A maximum quota of 20 teams has been determined for each category. The final registration process will be carried out taking into account the “Payment Confirmation Date”.
    • The application deadline and category quotas can be changed when necessary.

 

Rewards

 

    • The top three students in the regional competitions are rewarded with a certificate of achievement and a plaque of achievement.
    • The top three teams in the regional competitions win a special prize given by the jury and an invitation to the National Tournament (Turkish Championship). This success provides the right to participate in the Fibonacci Robot Olympics Turkey Tournament, open to international participation, which will be held in Antalya. The top three teams in the National Tournament (Fibonacci Robot Olympics Turkey Championship) receive a special jury prize and an invitation to the International Tournament (World Championship). . This success earns us the right to represent our country in the international “Fibonacci International Robot Olympiad” tournament to be held abroad.
